Why Choose Us

Experience. Quality. Trust.

We got into this trade for one reason: East Tennessee families heat their homes with fire, and fire deserves respect. Every sweep, inspection, and repair we do follows the NFPA 211 standard — the same national fire-safety rulebook your insurance company expects us to follow.

We show up when we say we will, in a clearly marked truck, with the brushes, cameras, and masonry tools to do the job right the first time. You get photos of what we find, a plain-English explanation, and pricing before any work starts. No scare tactics, no mystery fees, no 'you better act now' nonsense.

When the work is done, we clean up like we were never there — because your living room should smell like this morning's coffee, not last night's creosote.

Safety Focused

Every visit starts with a safety check to the NFPA 211 standard. If something is wrong, you'll see it in photos — not just hear about it.

Quality Workmanship

From a simple sweep to a full masonry rebuild, we build it like it's our own house — because our name is on the door.

Honest & Reliable

Upfront pricing before we start. If your chimney doesn't need a service, we'll tell you — even when it's cheaper for us not to.

Local & Trusted

We live here, we work here, and our customers are our neighbors from Knoxville to the Tri-Cities.

What Homeowners Say

Trusted Around the Valley

From Knoxville to the Tri-Cities — what our neighbors say after the visit.

“Three years without a sweep and I was nervous about what they'd find. They showed me photos of the flue before and after — no scare tactics, just here's what's there and here's what it needs. Swept, inspected, done in about an hour. Living room was cleaner when they left than when they got there.”
DR Dana R.Knoxville
“Had a water stain on the ceiling near the chimney that two roofers "fixed." TVC found it in twenty minutes — cracked crown, not the roof at all. Repaired it the same week and the stain hasn't come back. Should have called them first.”
MT Mike T.Maryville
“They service our rental cabin twice a year and send the documentation our property manager needs without us even asking. Guests burn the fireplace hard and I stopped worrying about it the day we started using this crew.”
PW Pat & Sam W.Sevierville
“They put a wood insert in our 1950s fireplace and it heats the whole living room now — we actually lowered the thermostat. They sized the liner, explained every option, and the price was exactly what they quoted. Refreshing.”
KH Karen H.Oak Ridge
“Our chimney was leaning and I feared the worst. They camera-checked it, walked me through what was actually wrong, and we ended up doing a partial rebuild instead of the full tear-down another company quoted. Honest people doing honest work.”
RL Robert L.Johnson City
“We heat with wood all winter, so our flue builds creosote fast. They sweep it twice a year, never upsell me, and tell me straight when it can wait. That kind of honesty keeps me calling them every season.”
JM Jesse M.Newport

Chimney Tips & Guides

Common Questions

Chimney Questions, Answered

The honest answers we give homeowners every week.

How often should I have my chimney swept in East Tennessee?
The NFPA 211 standard calls for a Level 1 inspection every year for any chimney you use, and sweeping whenever creosote builds up 1/8 inch or more. Most East Tennessee homeowners who burn wood weekly through winter need a sweep once a year — usually late summer or early fall, before the first cold snap.
What should a professional chimney sweep include?
A real sweep covers the whole system: the full flue brushed with equipment sized to your chimney, the smoke chamber and smoke shelf, a Level 1 NFPA 211 inspection, containment so no soot enters your home, and photos of your flue before and after. If a company's 'sweep' skips the inspection or the photos, you're not getting the whole job.
What are the levels of chimney inspection?
NFPA 211 defines three. A Level 1 is the annual visual check of readily accessible parts. A Level 2 adds a camera scan of the interior flue and is required when a home is sold, an appliance changes, or after a chimney fire or lightning strike. A Level 3 is the rare, in-depth investigation that may involve opening up walls or masonry to find hidden hazards.
Do you service my town?
We cover Knoxville, Maryville, Sevierville, Newport, Oak Ridge, Lenoir City, Kingsport, Johnson City, and Bristol — plus the counties around them. If you're elsewhere in East Tennessee, call (865) 309-5432 and we'll do our best to make it work.
Why does my fireplace smoke back into the room?
Smoke spills into the house when something restricts draft — a dirty or blocked flue, a damper that isn't fully open, a cold chimney that hasn't warmed up, negative pressure from a tight house, or a drafting issue after a roof change. Start with a sweep and inspection; if it's airflow, we'll show you the cause on camera.
What's the difference between a chimney sweep and an inspection?
A sweep physically removes creosote, soot, and debris from the flue. An inspection evaluates whether the system is safe to use. Most visits combine both: we inspect first, then sweep — because sweeping a damaged flue without knowing it can make things worse.
Are chimney sweeps really necessary if I only burn a few fires a year?
Yes — even occasional burning builds glaze and leaves moisture in the flue over winter. East Tennessee's freeze-thaw cycles work that moisture into small cracks and widen them every year. An annual check catches small problems while they're still small — and still easy to fix.
